State Support Organization
Habitat for Humanity Michigan’s vision is seeking to put God’s love into action, to bring people together to build homes, community and hope.
Habitat for Humanity Michigan (HFHM) believes that every man, woman and child should have a safe, decent and affordable home. To make this possible, Habitat for Humanity of Michigan partners with the Habitat for Humanity affiliates throughout the state to assist them to reach their maximum sustainable capacity within their individual communities by supporting the further development of leadership, procedures and resources.
HFHM mission is based on principles that:
Habitat for Humanity of Michigan (HFHM) began in 1993 with the purpose to increase the capacity of Habitat for Humanity affiliates across Michigan to build simple decent homes in partnership with people in need. The HFHM office is located in Lansing and since its’ establishment has grown and become the first successful state support organization in the country. HFHM supports the 68 Habitat for Humanity affiliates with leadership development programs, educational training, networking opportunities and administration of grants from government, corporate and private sector entities.
HFHM also seeks to create statewide awareness and advocacy addressing the need for decent affordable housing within the state. Through evaluation of the current growth potential of Habitat across Michigan, from a business perspective, HFHM has stood firm to strengthen the faith pillars of our work and will continue to progress by relentless dedication to eradicating poverty housing.
